on the Yad Vashem Shoah Victims’ Database Sunday, November 19, 2:00 p.m. in the Bexley Public Library Auditorium Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority, was established in 1953 by an act of the Israeli Knesset. Since its inception, Yad Vashem has been entrusted with documenting the history of the Jewish people during the Holocaust period, preserving the memory and story of each of the six million victims, and imparting the legacy of the Holocaust for generations to come through its archives, library, school, museums and recognition of the Righteous Among the Nations. The Pages of Testimony collected by Yad Vashem are now online and a tremendous resource for Holocaust research. Come and learn how to use this valuable tool. Gayle Sweetwine Saini has been researching her family for about 20 years, and has found ancestors in Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Bessarabia. She served for several years as the editor of Generations, the newsletter of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Michigan, and has written many articles for it. Gayle has long served as Society Librarian. She is also a member of the JewishGen Litvak and Romania Special Interest Groups. She has spoken to various groups on different aspects of genealogical research, and has a particular interest in researching on the Internet. Admission is free |
