CJHS VisionThe Columbus Jewish Historical Society will serve and be recognized as the primary source and focal point for the collection, preservation, research, and exhibition of the Jewish history of Columbus and central Ohio. It will serve as the center of inquiries programs, and dissemination of information and materials associated with past and current Jewish history. It will serve, cooperate, and coordinate its endeavors in concert with other local, state, and national organizations. Jewish history for Columbus and central Ohio will be a source of enlightenment for both the Jewish and general community and for the mutual benefit of current and future generations.
CJHS MissionTo put into effect the realization of the Vision, the Columbus Jewish Historical Society will be organized and managed so as to provide a system for the collection, preservation, cataloguing of items and information of historical value for the Jews of Columbus and central Ohio communities, for their dissemination, and for the development and maintenance of programs and services based on acceptable and credible standards. The essential purpose of the Society is to sensitize and enlighten current and future generations of the religious, cultural, and ethnic past. Jewish history, past and present, is the prologue of the future. |
